Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I get started?

After setting an appointment we will:
  • Have a meet and greet to determine initial compatibility between your dog and the runner/walker.
  • Go over the questionaire and aggression policy which takes less than 10 minutes.
  • Cover any questions you may have.

2. What if I don't know how long my dog can run?

During the first run with your dog, our experienced runners look for signs of fatigue, possible injury or heat related issues and will adjust the pace and/or length of running time depending upon the situation.

3. Do you run with or walk puppies?

For running, the minimum age is 1 year (breed dependent). Check with your vet or please ask what the minimum age is for your dog's breed to ensure running will not potentially cause distress or damage. We walk puppies after they've received their full round of shots.

4. How will you get my dog during the workweek when we're not home?

We will work with you for the best option that you are comfortable with. These options include leaving a key with someone you trust (such as a neighbor), leaving the dog in an accessible back yard, or giving us a spare key (your name or address is never associated with the key).

5. Do you run in inclement weather (such as rain or snow?)

We run daily regardless of weather conditions unless you have other preferences (holidays are the exception. We can be flexible depending upon schedules).

6. What about the hot summers?

We can start as early as meets your schedule. Your dog's health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. Therefore, we don't run in the heat of the day during the summer.

7. What if my dog has an emergency during the run or walk?

Our runners/walkers carry cell phones to contact you or a vet (if necessary).

8. Where do you go to run or walk dogs?

In your residential area or if you have a preference (such as the hike and bike trail or a park) we can transport your dog. If it's not nearby, a small transportation fee may be charged. The actual running time is not affected. If you live downtown and are close to Town Lake, we will run/walk on the hike and bike trail. Dogs are always leashed regardless of the location.

9. How many dogs can run or walk together?

For safety reasons, the maximum number of dogs for a run is one and the maximum number of dogs for a walk is 2.
